Spain’s warm, friendly atmosphere and cultural richness make it perfect for a unique high school experience. Improve your Spanish and expand your world-view as you immerse yourself in daily life.
By living with a host family and attending a local school, you’ll experience life as a true Spanish teen and build lasting friendships. Step out of your comfort zone and spend a year or semester in one of the world’s most beautiful countries!
Participants must be between the ages of 15 – 17,6 years old on the day of departure.
You’ll likely attend a public high school with classes like Spanish, literature, and physical education. Depending on the region, lessons may be in Castilian Spanish, Catalan, Galician, or Euskara.
School runs Monday–Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with possible afternoon classes after lunch. Students often call teachers by their first names, a local custom that still shows respect.
PLEASE NOTE: Placements are possible in areas where Castilian is not spoken, including at school.
Your host parents’ warm welcome will soon make you feel at home in their friendly community. Attending a local high school immerses you in the language and customs, reinforced each night with your host family.
