Paraguayan students wear uniforms and attend school either in the morning (7 a.m.–12 p.m.) or afternoon (1:30 p.m.–6 p.m.), depending on the school. Many schools offer sports, arts clubs, and events.
The academic year runs from March to October, with a two-week break in July. Students choose 10–12 subjects, with mandatory ones including chemistry, fine arts, geography, history, Latin, math, philosophy, psychology, and Spanish. Teachers rotate; students stay in one classroom. AFS Paraguay offers 40 hours of free Spanish classes.
