Admission requirements
Participants must be between 15 and 17 years old on the day of departure.
The AFS program
Go on a trip for a year, a semester, or a trimester and attend a high school in your host community. You'll live with a family carefully selected by AFS for an unforgettable immersion experience.
AFS offers training, orientation, and activities before, during, and after your stay, and you'll meet young people from all over the world!
The school system
In Mexico, most young people finish high school at 15 or 16 years old before continuing their "bachillerato" (high school).
Many schools offer classes in the morning or afternoon, and often require students to wear a uniform.
