Admission requirements
Participants must be between 18 and 21 years old on the day of departure.
Your school
In this program, you can take a year or a semester of undergraduate courses at the Instituto Federal, a renowned public institution with a presence in several cities across Brazil.
AFS Brazil collaborates closely with the Fortaleza, Ceará, campus. Courses are offered in Portuguese or English, depending on the subjects chosen.
Your host family
Brazilians are very expressive: they speak loudly, laugh a lot, and use body language extensively. Don't be surprised if someone touches your arm during a conversation; it's completely normal!
Hugs and kisses are common greetings and goodbyes. Families love company, so prepare to share lively meals surrounded by loved ones, friends, and extended family!
